The Society was formed as the Langley Mill Pottery Collectors’ Society by a group of local enthusiastic collectors in March 1992 in Heanor, Derbyshire - less than two miles from the original pottery site. Since then the membership has steadily increased with members in all parts of the United Kingdom and as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United States of America. In 2010 the scope of the Society was extended to include collectors of the wares of Denby Pottery

Monthly meetings continue to be held in Heanor, usually on the second Monday of the month, starting at 7.30 p.m., at the Heanor Miners’ Welfare, Ilkeston Road, Heanor (map). The meetings include illustrated talks on numerous subjects related to Langley Mill and Denby potteries and generally alternate with either a Members’ Evening, when a particular Langley or Denby Ware is discussed in detail, or the Annual Auction. Click the programme button for details of the current year’s events.
The Society also publishes a newsletter twice a year called ‘The Windmill’, which contains information about the Langley Mill and Denby potteries, their wares, coloured photographs, and articles contributed by both members and non-members. A sample of typical pages from the Newsletter can be viewed in our by clicking on The Windmill button.

You will belong to the Society whose stated objectives are to pursue the history
of the Langley Mill and Denby potteries, and to further the knowledge and appreciation
of their wares, while at the same time providing a social forum for collectors of
Langley and Denby Wares.
You will receive free all the Society’s publications, such as the Society’s newsletter
‘The Windmill’, which contains information, coloured photographs, and articles contributed
by both members and non-members on both Langley Mill and Denby potteries and other
potteries. Members have free entrance to the Society’s monthly meetings and may vote
at all General Meetings of the Society.
Last, but certainly not least, you will meet other members from all parts of the globe, all pleased to make contact and share with you their enthusiasm for and interest in Langley and Denby Wares.
